Make Some Noise For the Climate!

Dear Meditation Group,
Your organization is invited to attend and help get the word out for a safe & socially distant climate action - Make Some Noise for the Climate on Friday, April 24th.
Organized by the Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition and Manitoba Youth for Climate Action.
Unite together and demand action on catastrophic climate change by making some noise for Climate!
At 10:15 on Friday April 24th, everyone is going to turn up their radios and get outside to turn up the volume for climate action!
Our leaders are taking woefully little action to combat Climate Change. This pandemic has shown us that action is possible so let’s make some noise to DEMAND ACTION.
SPREAD THE WORD for people to come together in solidarity (while observing physical distancing) to once again join our voices in unison and put the health and well-being of our planet as well as all of its occupants at the forefront of the public consciousness.
Together, we made history last year during the Global Climate Strike on Sept. 27th, 2019, by bringing approximately 15,000 people to the streets of downtown Winnipeg.
On April 24th, 2020, we believe we can once again make history and work together to show the world what our collective actions can accomplish, embracing a joyful vision of a greener, healthier, more equitable, and community minded planet amidst a global pandemic which has forced us apart. Uniting in care and compassion for our Earth is more important than ever. We intend on making history.
There are many different ways your organization can participate:
Before April 24:
🗣 Spread the word! Ask your workplace, colleagues, family and friends to participate; and send them the recording. (Tell them to spread it too!) Invite them to the Facebook event.
💚 Wear a green circle for the month of April, or all the time
🎨 Create for the cause (banners, songs, Green-New-Deal-themed knitwear, surprise us, your art is always needed!)
💲 Donate to the cause
April 24 10am-11am
🚶 Walk out of your home or workplace to play the music
🎶 Blast our music as loud as you can, wherever you are on April 24 at 10:15 a.m. Tune in to CKUW 95.9 to play the recording!
Have your noise makers, pots/pans, instruments, and songs at the ready - and listen for instructions from the radio! Let’s turn up the volume for climate action!
